Seven weeks, seven paths to nourish your body and mind

Over the next seven weeks I’m going to be blogging about the Food & Spirit™ seven systems of health: ROOT, FLOW, FIRE, LOVE, TRUTH, INSIGHT and SPIRIT.

This approach to health and healing is based on a fusion of modern nutritional science and lifestyle medicine with the wisdom of an ancient Ayurvedic tradition, called the Chakras. Chakras refer to wheels of energy that run from the base of your spine to the crown of your head.

In the Food & Spirit™ model of personalised lifestyle medicine that I’m studying right now, these energy centres are also a series interconnected psycho-neuro-endocrine systems.

That means the systems work through the mental, emotional, and subtle energy channels to manifest effects in brain and nerve centres, endocrine glands, organs, body regions and parts - working to either lead a person towards illness or health.

First we identify the root causes of any imbalances in these energy centres, and then tap into the power of a variety of system-appropriate healing modalities and mind-body practices – and this includes my personal favourites, food and nutrition!

So, as I commence my studies to becoming a certified Food & Spirit™ practitioner, I’m going to briefly introduce you to the highlights of these systems at the pace of a system of a week, and share some high-level tips to help you nourish your own systems.
