'Getting real' at the IHCAN Summit 2018
The Integrative Health Care and Applied Nutrition (IHCAN) Summit is always a feast and with a focus on 'real food' and the mind-body connection, this year didn't disappoint.
Listening to world-renowned practitioners share their food philosophies and the latest in nutritional science is both inspiring and supports my practice as I bring new insights into my work with clients.
This year's speakers:
Garner Thomson - sharing his Medical NLP wisdoms, Garner is a Master NLP Practitioner and creator of the pioneering Medical NLP™ programme which integrates NLP with both mainstream medical practice and complementary and alternative medicine. It's all about the power of the mind in health and how to empower clients to tap into theirs.
Deanna Minich - is a functional medicine-trained clinician and researcher with a unique approach to clinical medicine that combines physiology and psychology, bridging gaps between science, art and spirituality. It's all brought to life through her creative seven systems healing protocol which encompasses the 'full spectrum' of the individual and The Rainbow Diet. Enforcing the connection between nutrition and mind and body nourishment, I'm taking lots of inspiration from Deanna at the moment!
Dr Rupy Aujla - an NHS GP , speaking about ‘The Doctor’s Kitchen’, a project he created to inspire patients about the beauty of food and the medicinal effects of eating well. He has delicious, easy recipes and talks about the amazing clinical research behind the ingredients he uses on YouTube, Instagram and his blog. In his role as clinical adviser to the Royal College of GPs, he has big aspirations to bring the concept of ‘Culinary Medicine’ to the profession globally.
Kiran Krishnan - talking about Vitamin K. Often overlooked this fascinating vitamin plays a critical role in many biochemical processes in our bodies. Kiran is a Research Microbiologist and has been involved in the dietary supplement and nutrition market for the past 16 years.
